Bob Milo from the Milton Rural Fire Brigade said the equipment provided will help both the local volunteers but also the local community during incidents in the region.
“Our Category 9 tanker will benefit from an ipad which will be used in a number of ways during fires and for other incidents” Bob said.
The unit will also use the money to purchase a new fridge for the shed and a blu-ray player to use during cadet training courses.
“We are also looking at further developing our community engagement programs with this new technology,” Bob said.
South Coast Rural Fire Service Brigades received the funding boost from the NSW Rural Fire Service Association as part of the 2015 grant scheme.
Chairs and tables were also provided as part of the grant for each local unit.
