They want to spread the love of vollyball to children.
Many years ago Steve started a smash ball activity at school as a beginners because it has similar rules to volleyball but easier.
After they got many children to join in smash ball around six months ago, Paul came to teach the children and introduce them to the real volleyball.
Paul is not an ordinary man.
He used to play professional beach volleyball in late 80s and became the official Australian olympic coach in 1996, 2000, and 2004 for the women’s beach volleyball team.
His love of volleyball started when he was a boy and his father used to play with him. “Volleyball has everything you need in a sport.
It has dynamic movement, team work, and also skilfull players,” said Paul.
He was also happy to see many children have already signed up for volleyball even though this activity is brand new.
The team has not wasted any time.
Recently, they have been preparing to enter the National Volleyball Competition next January.
They said it would be a nice opportunity for the children to see the other teams and compete at a high level.
“Winning is not important, we do not aim for that yet, it is enough for us if the children end up loving the sport because that what we feel about volleyball,” Paul said.
He hoped that more children at Ulladulla High School and people in Ulladulla generally will love the sport as much as he and Steve do.
He has seen many good players from the area and he would love to help them become professional players.
