The Force Awakens brings new hope for Star Wars fans

Chris Brennan well remembers seeing Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, in June 1999. He had been an avid Star Wars fan since seeing the first film in 1977, and had joined Australia's biggest fan club, Star Walking Inc, in 1995. The first midnight session of Phantom Menace in Melbourne was full of fellow fans. It had been 16 years since Return of the Jedi, which completed the first Star Wars trilogy in 1983, and the anticipation that night was electric.
