He'd just launched his custom-built drone into the sky and was watching a live feed of the vision from his computer.
''I thought 'Wow! That's beautiful','' the Illawarra photographer recalls. 'It was spectacular.''
In a boon for Shoalhaven tourism and Kramer’s new business Above Down Under, his untouched photo of Honeymoon Bay went viral on Facebook, reaching thousands of out-of-towners keen to see the rocky bay for themselves.
He followed up with bird's eye views of Lake Illawarra, Batemans Bay, Narooma, Tuross Head, Mystery Bay and more, all taken at a height too low for planes to fly and revealing a side of the South Coast even locals have never seen before.
‘'We are very lucky to have spectacular coastline, sub-tropical rainforest, and rolling pastures all within easy reach,'' Kramer says. ''As a landscape photographer, I'm spoilt for choice - there are many great rock formations, beaches, harbours and lighthouses in the region.''
Next up he plans to explore more of the Eurobodalla and Sapphire Coast all the way down to Eden.
