The troupe were once again awarded the Infants and Primary Dance Title in a field of 11 competing troupes from seven Shoalhaven primary schools.

Adjudicator Marilyn Morrison commented on a ‘very impressive group performance’ from dancers who ‘had a good understanding of their lyric and used great expression and feeling.’

The troupe performed a contemporary piece which demonstrated a maturity in dance technique and performance skills.

To add to Ulladulla Public School’s success in dance their newly formed Infants Troupe took out second place in the same section.

The year one and two students were commended on their ‘bright personalities and enthusiasm’ after performing a jazz piece at their first eisteddfod.

A huge achievement in a highly competitive section.

The 45 performers were selected from Years 1 – 6 at Ulladulla Public School after two audition rounds.

“I am incredibly proud of our students’ achievements,” said dance teacher Marissa Newman.

“The greatest joy was to see our dancers hard work pay off as they were able to enjoy the experience of performing and appreciate the talents of other schools,” she said.

The school would like to say a huge thank you to the many teachers and parents who have supported the dancers in the lead up to this year’s eisteddfod. 

Both groups will continue to perform throughout the year at school and community events.
