On June 4 they will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple were married in 1966 in Florida, South Africa. They moved to Australia in 1971 and retired in Narrawallee in the 1990s.
They had already purchased a property at Kilfeacle off Little Forest Road in 1975 which is now owned by their daughter Kim who lives there with her husband and two children.
Tim and Avril have two children, Kim and Mike and four grandchildren Holly, Archer, Tom and Zoe.
Tim was a geologist in South Africa and originally worked in the mines while Avril trained as a nurse and later worked in the family business with Tim in Canberra after the pair moved to Australia.
