With both teams scoring two tries each, it was the boot of Ebony Murray that got her team home on the day.
Cindy Brookfield and Alex Westlake scored in the first half for Kiama with Milton's captain Cheyanne Hatch scoring for the hosts, as both kickers, Kirsty Church for Kiama and Murray for Milton, were off line.
But in the 16th minute of the second half, Emily Burke scored a try which turned out to be the turning point in the game.
Murray converted to give Milton-Ulladulla a 10-8 lead, which they were able to hold on to.
Best for Kiama were Church, Alana Glasson, and Kristie Laird with Milton's best Murray, Hatch, Burke and Hannah Prouten.
During the game, players from both teams wore green arm bands in recognise their support of Kiama fullback, Talarah Bell’s fiance Jye Bull, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
“Blue is the cancer awareness colour but green is Jye’s favourite colour and before the game, the Kiama girls contacted us to see if we would like to be a part of their initiative,” Bulldogs’ skipper Cheyanne Hatch said.
“Both clubs thought it was a great opportunity to raise awareness and something that both Jye and Talarah would like to see.
“All of the clubs in the Group are thinking of Jye, Talarah and their families at this tough time and are hoping for a speedy recovery.”
