NSW Government funding has been made available for musicians to promote their talents to overseas producers and develop contacts that could open the door to an international music career.
The program has been designed to help local musicians and their managers develop the business and networking skills required to make it onto the world stage.
“Musicians can apply for funding to help them land major tour support slots, take advantage of a unique performance opportunity or attend workshops that develop the professional skills necessary to operate at an international level,” Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said.
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the success of local artists in overseas markets helps Australia’s contemporary music industry to grow and evolve.
“The NSW Government wants to help get our musicians take on the world and I urge talented musicians to submit an application,” Mr Grant said.
Musicians can apply for up to $850 per person, to a maximum total of $5,500 per group.
Round 2 applications open on Monday 18 July and close on Tuesday 6 September.
