Day two of the competition on Saturday morning saw the men’s and women’s rescue race heats in the water.
A lack of swell has meant boats are able to get to faster than usual speeds without worrying about smashing through waves.
Wind and weed have been causing a few headaches for organisers, with run away tents and competition paused while seaweed was cleared from the competition area.
Mollymook Surf Life Saving Club members will not be competing in the event however are busy keeping the weekend running smoothly.
Competition will continue for the rest of Saturday and finals will be held on Sunday.
Organisers are hoping to get through at least 90 races on Saturday to clear the way for Sunday finals.
Spectators are welcome to come and watch the action.
