Carolyn Effield graduated from Charles Sturt University (CSU), Wagga Wagga, on December 11 with a Bachelor of Stage and Screen (television).
As a child Ms Effield’s career ambition was always to be a star, and it seems she is well on her way.
The young woman, who was an active participant in events with the Milton Follies, The Blessing of the Fleet, Milton Show and the Baptist Church Youth Missions, has just secured her first professional career employment and will be starting work with Fox Sports in Sydney on February 4.
Ms Effield’s role in media will be assisting with television production and archiving for Fox Sports Network. Ms Effield enjoyed her time studying at CSU, but could not believe how fast her three years’ of study finished.
Despite being hesitant about moving to place she had never been and where she did not know anybody, she said it was the best educational and social decision she has made.
She has had the opportunity to have a “world-class” lecturers and industry professionals educate her, including the multi-award and Oscar-winning sound and immersive media associate professor Damian Candusso.
While in Wagga Wagga, Ms Effield had the privilege to have work as a projectionist at the Kapooka Army Base.
Ms Effield, who graduated Ulladulla High School in 2015, praised teacher Matt Skinner for his guidance in her HSC.
Mr Skinner taught one of her favourite HSC subjects – Entertainment Industry Framework – which has led her towards her current career path.
