It was a sunny afternoon at Mollymook Oval and a exultant crowd were thrilled by the entertainment throughout the whole day, provided mainly by the first graders Milton-Ulladulla and Jamberoo in their animated round 14 match.

Jamberoo scored seven tries to one and won convincingly 42-6, making last Saturday a worthwhile event for sports fans.
Tries flowed freely in the first grade game after stout-hearted Jamberoo skipper Jono Dallas took control of the game from the outset, engineering nearly all of Jamberoo’s first half five try haul for the visitors to lead 28-nil at the break. However, the Dogs’ heroics had the crowd electrified.
As Dallas, captain and mercurial halfback, carried off a major share of the honours by his outstanding display throughout the contest, the sizeable crowd still cheered every effort made by their beloved fighting Bulldogs. When they finally broke through with a Lapani Waqa try and a monster conversion by Paul Ardler, the ground nearly erupted.
But it wasn’t sunshine all the way for the supporting matches with a sad crop of injuries, disappointing displays and the Dogs failing to grab a win in all four matches, which saw the local Reserve grade side beaten 40-30 by Jamberoo. Cruize Turay, Brendan Fearnley, Cayle Symons, Chase Creswell and Matt Bettington scored tries for the Dogs with young Bettington delivering five goals after the Dogs led 12-0 at the break.
Defending WLT premiers Jamberoo kick-chase tactics paid off after trailing 12-6 at the interval against the Doggies. Tanika O’Brien and Olivia Patterson crossed for tries as O’Brien and Ebony Murray slotted the goals before the Roos ruthlessly retaliated with a converted try and a last minute field goal to snatch a dramatic 13-12 win on the stroke of full-time.
The under 18s clash between leaders Milton-Ulladulla and second-placed Albion Park was a thriller from start to finish. The dish-lickers raced to a 14-4 lead thanks to halves Whitford and Millard after a dozen minutes of play. Then the Dogs dashed to a commanding 24-10 lead at halftime after Turay, Meredith, Whitford, Humble and Roach added further tries, with Whitford adding the conversions, before some clumsy, excitable handling and a breakdown in defence saw the niggling Eagles quickly post three converted tries to grab the lead at 28-24.
Then with two minutes remaining, a late rally saw Bulldog custodian Cruize Turay crash into the north-eastern corner of the joint to salvage a heart-stopping 28-all draw.
The next Bulldogs game will be against Berry Magpies on Sunday, July 30 at Mollymook Oval from 10.45am.
