Donohue polled 23 votes throughout the home and away regular season for the Dockers, edging out Port Kembla’s Brendan Hasiuk for the prize.
Kiama’s Ben Williams claimed the 2017 Tunbridge medal – awarded to the league’s best and fairest player of first grade. Other winners were; Lions’ Alex Cotter (leading goal kicker in first grade with 87), Bulldogs’ Andrew Watson (leading goal kicker in reserve grade with 54), Lions’ Ben Green (representative player of the year), Blake Gonchee (Brian Archer umpire development award) and Tim O’Shea (golden whistle award), Figtree AFC (Max Avery best club award) and Dapto City’s Schell Yates (volunteer of the year), while Bomaderry’s Neville Hickmott was the inaugural inductee into the AFLSC Hall of Fame.
