The Butterfly Foundation represents people affected by eating disorders and negative body image.
It is an issue close to Maddison’s heart, who was personally diagnosed with anorexia at the age of 12.
I would just skip a few meals a day, spending up to five hours a day on the exercise bike.

Dealing with a combination of bullying and the death of her grandfather, she noticed her eating habits slowly begin to change.
“It started off where I would just skip a few meals a day, spending up to five hours a day on the exercise bike,” she said.
“Then I started not eating all day long.”
Noticing a change in Maddison’s appearance, both her Nan and school decided medical expertise was required.
Following counselling with the Butterfly Foundation, Maddison spent lengthy periods at hospital between March 2013 to January 2015.
I don’t know where I would be, to be honest.

Without the Butterfly Foundation, Maddison fears what the outcome could have been.
“I don’t know where I would be, to be honest,” she said.
“I personally had to drive hours away to Sydney, sometimes at 4am in the morning, for treatment.
“It is hard.
“I want people to know it is okay to speak up, to not fight it alone as there are people out there who can help.
Maddison still fights against her eating disorder to this day.
“I wouldn’t say I am even on top now,” she said.
“I would say I have gone from one end to the spectrum to the other.”
Maddison previously showcased her charitable side last year, raising $300 in a raffle.
The Butterfly Foundation fundraiser is to be held at Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos and tickets can be bought there for $55.
