Saturday not only saw the sunshine come out from behind the rain clouds it saw lots and lots of happy childrens faces with the matches being played as scheduled. The kids all had a great time regardless of the result playing in the mud and skidding along the grass to the try line.
Last weekend was the official Shoosh round in conjunction with the CRL, we are pleased to report that overall the spectators that attended the games at home where all well behaved and supported the players and officials in the best interest of the game, let’s keep this up right through the entire season.
In the coming weeks we will be running some raffles through the canteen, with some fantastic prizes, all money raised goes back into the club to assist with equipment, playing kits and presentation day so please make sure you support the raffles.
On Sunday, Darcy Wooden & Kye Farmilo from our U13s who are part of the Group 7 development squad travelled to Newcastle to play a game against the Group 9 development team, with the Group 7 team winning 8-4. Well done boys, this is a great learning experience for you both.
Our U10s numbers have grown and the Committee have agreed that we will now split into two teams. This will allow each player more time on the field and also give their coaching staff the opportunity to spend more one on one time with each player to further assist their development as a player.
Group 7 and the merged Illawarra Competition have finished their regradings and the regraded competition will commence in round 9 on Saturday, June 3, we hope to have a complete draw available later in the week, please remember that the draw will only have the weekly draw and not the game time which will be confirmed on a week to week basis.
Please also remember that the draw is issued subject to change so alway check the club’s Facebook page or website for the confirmed weekly matches.
We still have lots of lost property left behind post training and matches, so if you are missing any items please do come and see us in the canteen after training on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It’s starting to get chilly on the sidelines so why not show your support of our Junior Doggies in club merchandise, it is available from the canteen on training and match days, we have hoodies from size 4 to 3XL (larger sizes available by request), polos from size 6 to 4XL, bucket hats, gear bags, spare shorts and socks. We have ordered training shorts and expect them to be instock shortly.
For those teams playing at home each weekend we would like to remind you that the club requires your assistance to make the day run smoothly. If your team is participating in the first game we ask that the parents and supporters assist in setting up the fields and the teams that are involved in the last games of the day that parents and supporters assist in packing up the fields and returning all items neatly to the sheds.
Each team is required to provide 2 parents to assist in the canteen and on the BBQ in the hour before their game, the canteen is one of the club’s biggest revenue raisers, without parent helpers the canteen will not be able to operate.
This week we would like to make special mention and thanks to Kim D’Ombrain and Zoie Collett who have been regular helpers in the canteen throughout the day, your assistance has been invaluable, thanks!
Our weekly meat raffles at the Ex Servos continue to surge along and this week we ask for the parents and families of the U16 boys to come along and support and assist us with the raffles. Ticket sales commence at 6pm, with the draw for the 40+ meat trays commencing at 7pm.
Keep up to date on all things Junior Doggies via Facebook and our website.

Under 7s Bulldogs report
The U7 Ex Servos Bulldogs played Bomaderry at Ulladulla fields and the boys got nice and muddy through the game, way to go!
Alex Morris dived straight for the mud, getting up and loving being muddy. Joey Salafia showed great defence while scoring tries. Connor Pike defended like a champ while doing an awesome of load to Bodhie Groves leaving him wide open for a full length try! Terrific work!
Ryan Hasler grabbed the ball and made a bee line for the try line. Chaise Scott is on a roll – first try last week backing it up with another try this week, great job! Luke Costa did some terrific runs.
Finn Bradley and Jet Smith showed great support for the team, making sure helping with tackles and running with them.
We welcomed a new player Ross Rywak who has fitted into the team perfectly and had a great first game with his team mates.
