NINE families travelled to Wagga Wagga for the Little Athletics Regional Championships last weekend. Friday's heatwave was just a taste of what we were to expect on Saturday with temperatures of 46° being forecast. We arrived Saturday morning hoping that the heat wouldn't reach the levels predicted. Our first two competitors, Annabelle and Ella headed off for the 1500m and returned with 2nd and 3rd respectively. The day progressed and the heat increased with the carnival being called off at 1pm.

On Sunday, our athletes had a very busy day collecting medals and breaking PBs.
Results:
Annabelle Healey: 1500m - 2nd (5.58.84m), 60m Hurdles - 1st (12.15s), High Jump - 1st, (1.13mt), 400m - 5th (1.20.70m).
Aliyah Healey: 400m - 1st (1.19.00m), 60m Hurdles - 2nd (11.60s), 70m - 2nd (11.75) & 100m - 2nd (11.75s). The Healey girls never fail to amaze us all. Great work girls!
Ben Shephard: 800m - 2nd (2.30.56m), 1500m - 4th (5.20.24m), Shot Put - 5th (8.63mt). Great tactical race Ben!
Brodie McClusky - 200m - 4th (34.30s), 100m - 4th (16.23s), 70m - 4th (11.78s), Long Jump (3.30m).
Bryce Turley - High Jump - 3rd (1.70m). Just a few centimetres off your PB Bryce!
Ella Colusso - 1500m - 3rd (6.19.30m), 400m - 3rd (1.17.79m), 800m - 4th (3.12.25m), Long Jump 9th. Ella ran PBs in all her races. Fantastic effort Ella!
Jaleesa Smith: Long Jump - 1st (3.58m), 70m - 2nd (11.27s), 200m - 5th (34.80s). Jaleesa's long jump was fantastic! Amazing work Jaleesa!
Ethan Ryan: Shot Putt - 5th (6.43m). Fantastic work getting to Regional Champs Ethan!
Lane Williams: 1st - 700m Walk (5.10.63m), 60m Hurdles (12.91), 800m (3:47.87m). First in Walk! Way to go Lane!
Matilda Boland: High Jump - 4th (1.00m), 70m (12.60s) Great work Matilda!
Pheonix Williams: 400m (1.37.52m), Long Jump - 4th (3.06m), Shot Put (4.79m), 60m Hurdles (13.58s). Awesome effort Nix!
Sebastian Diver: 100m - (16.93s), 200m - 4th (34.80s), Long Jump - 5th (3.41m).
