Anyone notice the heat the last few days?
As we sweated sloppy pheromones through our skin profusely like a Chux super wipe trying desperately to stop a fireman hose we encountered something magical, swell.
Yes, sweet swell turned up to coincide with the heatwave that spawned over 70 million "it's hot isn't it" comments.
Yes, an east swell opens doors to waves which can be spectacular if you're lucky enough to find them, and a lot of us did this week.

The direction of this was also slightly odd almost like a cyclone had whipped up a bag of waves and threw them at us from the east which gave us a chance to surf waves that have been more absent lately than flavour to anything that says sugar free.
Yes, an east swell opens doors to waves which can be spectacular if you're lucky enough to find them, and a lot of us did this week.
North Narrawallee was one of those waves which has been almost eliminated from our surf checks this summer due to the extremely poor banks, but add a bit of east to the same location and bang we have a new taste in the surf.
One who was keeping a close eye on the swell was Chris Zinon who arrived at the beach well before the sun rose on Friday morning to be greeted with clean four-foot waves running up the beach like a ferocious German Sheppard chasing a wounded seagull for breakfast.
Chris scored some nice rides to end his working week to feel fresh and able to divulge deep into his two-day break
Keanu Asing has won the Komunity Project Great Lakes Pro in epic waves at Boomerang beach.
The entire event competitors were treated to super clean, three-four-foot left and right-hand peaks making high performance surfing even higher.
The event couldn't have been scripted any better with Asing, the No.1 seed coming up against Wade Carmichael, the defending event champion in the final.
After falling off the elite Championship Tour at the end of last year, Asing is fired up to requalify in 2017.
"This is my first-ever QS win, which is really cool," Carmichael came into the event as defending champion and was a standout all event in the solid waves at Boomerang.
Chasing a big score in the final, Carmichael scored an incredible 9.13 but couldn't find a solid back up and saw his defending title slip into the hands of the seppo.
