Principal Mark Thomson said having the full Gonski funding honoured was important to the school.
““We are approaching the final two years of this agreement with funding in each successive year ‘ramping-up’ towards the full equitable model proposed by David Gonski and agreed to by the state and federal governments at the time of signing,” he said.
“Whilst we are very happy to receive any additional funding, under the new model proposed by Mr Turnbull, our school is set to receive over $400,000 less over the next two years than agreed to in the original Gonski Package.”
Mr Thomson said the Gonski money received by the school to date had been put to great use.
He said it had provided additional educational services, resources and professional learning to meet the needs of students.
“The data we have collected over the past three years clearly shows that these programs are beginning to make a substantial difference to student learning, raising significantly student potential,” Mr Thomson said.
“The NSW Government was the first government to sign-up to the Gonski agreement which provides a fair, equitable funding resource to all schools, based on student need, regardless of location or educational sector.
“We applaud our State Education Minister, Mr Rob Stokes, for speaking out so strongly in support of maintaining the full Gonski funding model.”
