West Tamar Council, TAFE Tasmania, the Department of Education and MEGT Australia jointly launched the School Based Traineeship Program at Exeter last week. High school students will undertake various traineeship programs at the West Tamar Council. Two students taking part in the program is Exeter High School student Ross Mohr and Jarrod Dusuatoy from Launceston College. Ross will be working on a certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation through West Tamar's Works Department. Jarrod will be undertaking work with the Parks and Recreation department to obtain his Horticulture II/III certificate. West Tamar mayor Christina Holmdahl said giving students in year 10 the opportunity to gain TAFE qualifications will help further enhance their employment opportunities.
