9am, Tuesday: A forensic team, Batemans Bay detectives and police are continuing to investigate a single vehicle fatal crash at Mogo overnight.
The crash, in which a man aged in his 50s died at the scene, occurred when his southbound vehicle left the road after crossing a bridge at Jeremadra, south of Mogo village.
The vehicle collided with a tree.
Investigations are continuing but police have urged drivers to slow down and take extra care in the current wet conditions.
The southbound lane of the Princes Highway was closed until about 4am, with drivers diverted via Tomakin Road.
The turn was the scene of another fatal accident involving a northbound vehicle in 2009 in which two young men died.
10.59pm: A man has died after his car left the road and hit a tree in Mogo.
Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway just before 8.30pm.
The driver, aged in his 50s, died at the scene. He hasn’t yet been formally identified.
Officers from Batemans Bay Local Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Road closures are in place and southbound traffic is being diverted to Tomakin Road.
