Anglers had great weather for the club’s January competition – the last one of the season – and with the point score being so close everyone was out there looking for that trophy fish.
The fish were a little scarce for most in the offshore division except for Adam Nelson who bagged an 8.285kg kingfish which gave him this month’s heaviest catch and the Tutty award.
Adam’s sons Thomas and Lucas and their mate Jake had trouble lifting it onto the scales.
The rock and beach section produced some nice fish including Julian Sharrad’s huge catch of flathead and bream including a .905kg bream.
Bill Baily fished the beach for 20 of the biggest whiting we have seen in a long time.
Albert Dos Santos fished the rocks for a nice mix of snapper, drummer and a 1.170kg trevally.
With the point score being so close it will be a very interesting presentation day on February 6.
