Tuesday and Wednesday runs swapped: from February 1, the RATS will swap their Tuesday and Wednesday runs. From now on, Tuesday will be an interval session - either at South Mollymook or Narrawallee Flat – and Wednesday will be a steady 10km to 13km run from Maccas.
Sunday, February 7: it was a gorgeous, cool and sunny morning when about a dozen RATS met at Narrawallee Inlet. The runners headed into Garrad Reserve at the bottom of Leo Drive and headed further up the Inlet. They then headed south through the bush and up the hill, emerging on Matron Porter Drive.
Most runners headed along the edge of the golf course for a picturesque but hilly journey to Mollymook Beach. From here, they headed back to the Inlet via North Molly and Narrawallee Beach. A beautiful but challenging run for about 13km to 14kms.
RATS in the field:
Saturday, February 6: Jake Ring ran the Sandon Point park run and came first outright in the 5km event in an outstanding time of 17.31.
February 16: is the third Tuesday in the month, so please meet at 6am, at Mollymook Surf Club car park, for stair or hill intervals.
Saturday, February 13: is a rest day for runners aiming up for the Canberra Half, so there will be no organised intervals.
However, for riders, the RATS are going to extend their normal bike ride, to finish with breakfast on the lawn, at Phil Yardy's house, in Little Forest Road. The regular riders should arrive at Little Forest Road by 8.30am.
If anyone would like to join in, for just the last part of the ride, from the Heritage Bakery, out to Little Forest Road, be at the bakery at 8am and everyone can ride out as a group.
If you don't want to ride back into Milton, up Stony Hill, there will be transport to shuttle bikes and riders back to town.
If you are keen to do this extended ride, please let Lauri know, so that we have some idea of numbers: 0438 44 55 73.
Sunday February 14: please meet at 6.30am, at the Heritage Bakery, Milton. Those training for the half in Canberra are looking for an easier week, so the distance will only be about 10km. All welcome.
All welcome:
The Ulladulla RATS welcome guests, visitors and potential new members to join us, for any of our runs. All standards catered for. There is no initial fee, just come along and join in. You are not obliged to run the full distance and can turn back at any stage.
A beginners walk/run, with encouragement and support, can be arranged - distance and timing is flexible. For further information, ring or text Lauri on 0438 44 55 73.
