Eight Milton Teen Showgirl entrants got a taste of farm life before meeting the judges on Sunday.
The girls, in years eight and nine, went to Murray’s Dairy farm and watched the cows being milked before trying their hand at the task.
Carl and Leon explained how the dairy worked.
The entrants also visited the Brook’s farm and played with poultry, rabbits, dogs and horses being being interviewed during an afternoon tea with the judges.
The girls were judged on their show knowledge as their local community knowledge, manners amd speaking.
Last year’s Milton Showgirl Meredith Woodcock spoke to the entrants and provided tips on interview techniques and public speaking.
The girls will lend a hand in the animal nursery at the show and the winner will be announced during Saturday’s official ceremony on the show stage form 1pm.
The girls will also choose their favourite entrant who will take out the Contestants’ choice prize.
