The promised fix of Burrill Lake Lions Park’s faulty new public toilets within a month from February 10 is almost made good.
After jamming door locks that trapped patrons were replaced, the most immediate hygiene problem for several weeks was the lack of hand basins in some cubicles, leading some people to wash in the two outside drink bubblers.
Now new taps replacing the drinking squirters have turned the bubblers into hand basins.
The cubicle with gender issues that began as unisex, then changed to gents, now has its unisex label back on the door, matching the rest.
However, the key piece of equipment in any baby change room - the change table - was still missing yesterday (March 2).
Council had also been waiting on parts for the hydraulic lift in the disabled toilet.
On top of the original new paint job inside the cubicles, there is a new paint job.
Castlereagh Construction Group Pty Ltd from Surry Hills handed the incomplete facility over to Shoalhaven City Council before Christmas.
