On Saturday Milton Pony Club held their second rally which included rider grading.
It was a massive day for the club with 19 riders and four visitors attending, many commenting on how inspiring it was to see so many members enjoying the day and bringing the long-standing club back to its glory.
A sincere thank you goes to Club President Marion Hatwell, Secretary Julie Holstegge, Zone Chief Instructor Kim Taylor and Chief Instructor Gail Pollard for running such a fun and educational day for all members and visitors.
Instructors Milea Woods, Marion Hatwell, Ray Morton, Mardi Drysdale and Shelly Walsh worked with all of the eager riders on improving their flat work, horsemanship, show jumping and sporting skills as new friendships were forged and members smiled through a wonderful event.
Members were kept well fuelled with a canteen run by Nicole Melrose and it was wonderful during the lunch break to see the group enjoying a fun, educational and social day in the outdoors together.
Many members are now attending as parents to the younger riders but once were active riding members themselves.
It was inspiring to see a club transform from a recently small but active membership to a booming club providing a safe, fun and skilled environment for the local community to enjoy with their equestrian mates.
The next rally will be held on Saturday, April 24 and we hope to see you all there.
Congratulations to all involved on an enjoyable, educational day.
