Long time Mollymook residents Bill and Bev Clinghan will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a small gathering of family and friends for afternoon tea on Saturday, April 30 at the community room of Sarah Claydon Village.
Bill and Bev were married at St Saviours Anglican Cathedral, Goulburn on Saturday, April 28,1956.
As a veteran of the second World War, Bill was very involved as Secretary/Manager of Goulburn RSL and then later, Burwood RSL.
The family has had holiday homes in the Ulladulla/Mollymook area since 1959 and spent many school holidays with children and grandchildren in the years since.
Bill and Bev retired to their holiday home in 1991 and since then have been involved with tennis and bowls but mostly in the Golf Club.
Bill is one of the oldest and longest continuous members of the Mollymook Golf Club having joined to play on holidays and has twice had a hole in one on the Beachside course.
Both Bill and Bev have held positions on the Veteran’s Golf and Ladies’ Golf committees and had many wonderful trips around the state to Veterans Golf Tournaments with their many friends from the Golf Club.
Bill was president of the local TPI (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated) Association for 10 years and Bev was involved with Community Transport and also with Meals on Wheels.
Since retiring Bill and Bev have had many wonderful trips both within Australia and abroad. Their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends will join Bill and Bev on this happy occasion.
