The 4th Ulladulla Boardriders contest was held in small 1/2ft waves at Rennies Beach with much of the attraction being the sea life.
The Open Women's Final was a healthy hustle between Claire Bierke who carved up the lefts taking 1st from a very improved Aja Schofield who had one of the highest scores placing 2nd.
Our new member Tahlia Fowler was stoked to catch a few waves to take an inspiring 3rd!
A highlight of the U16 Boys Final was the pod of dolphins surfing the waves the entire heat. Amongst the flurry, Harry Phillips ripped into 1st with excellent turns and great wave selection.
Beau Buckpitt carved up 2nd place even after being blown off the waves by wind gusts. New member from Bawley Point, Sonny Bellet surfed well, showing promise to place 3rd.
The O50s Final was more about the sea life. President Kurt Nyholm said it was one of the craziest things he had ever seen in a comp. Cazzaman came in as he couldn't get a wave amongst the massive school of bait fish.
A large playful seal followed them into shore to the delight of all the Boardriders who ran down for a closer viewing. Meanwhile Darryl Jones was tagging the rights to take the win over Pete Meyers 2nd, Cazzaman 3rd and amongst that Jordon Maloney took 1st in Over 30s.
In the U18s Boys Final, it was Ben Buckpitt’s right hander that sealed 1st Place with multiple radical turns. Zane Stedman shred a right to pieces jamming a layback cutback taking 2nd, with Charlie Brophy a close 3rd surfing the lefts on his powerful backhand attack.
In the Over 40s Men’s Final our president Kurt Nyholm locked in another win with his classic powerful turns.
Catfish scored big on the lefts taking 2nd with Adam Richards nailing a 360 for 3rd with Parso styling to 4th.
In The Open Men’s Final surfers spread out from the rights one end of the line up, to the lefts down beach to rights in front.
All surfers locked in one decent score so it came down to the back up.
This time it was clever Beau Buckpitt shredding in front who scored that beauty with excellent turns to earn 1st over in-form Adam Richards who carved into 2nd on the inside lefts down beach.
