The Milton Scarecrow Festival will not go ahead this year, but that hasn’t stopped Milton vet Carrie Tay from placing a giant dachshund outside her business.
She is hoping businesses and residents will embrace the “spirit” of the festival and create scarecrows for the June long weekend.
Even though the official event has been shelved until 2017, Carrie says there’s no reason why people can’t keep the tradition alive and create a visual display for local and visitors to the area.
Every year she makes an impressive animal-themed scarecrow an this year’s creation is no exception, with a huge sausage dog draped along the fence outside the Milton Village Vet.
Alongside the scarecrow is a petition encouraging people to show there support for the festival.
Carrie has put her doggy out early in the hope others will get on board.
