The Probus Club of Ulladulla and Districts awarded Life Membership to Margaret Reeves and Jean Erwin at its meeting on Friday, June 3.
Both ladies have been stalwarts of the club since the it was formed in 1994.
Margaret was club president for two terms, successfully organised and catered for the club’s monthly barbecues and many other committee positions.
Jean has been secretary, public officer and treasurer; holding a position on the committee for the past twelve years.
She has been Margaret’s assistant in organising and catering for the barbecues. Both ladies are heavily involved in other volunteer activities around Ulladulla.
At this meeting we were privileged to have Dr Elaine Saunders as our guest speaker. Dr Saunders is the CEO of “BlameySaundersHears.”
She is a leading businesswoman, audiologist and academic and has received many awards for her work in these fields.
This year marks the Fortieth Anniversary of Probus in Australia with the first club being formed in Sydney in March 1976.
The club plans to celebrate this anniversary with representatives from the other local Probus Clubs at a barbecue at the Lake Tabourie Caravan Park later in the month.
The Probus Club of Ulladulla and Districts Inc. meets at the ExServos Club on the second Friday of each month at 9:30am and at other times throughout each month for other activities such as trips of barbecues.
