An all-too-easy place to dump rubbish on Crown Land at Coral Crescent, Ulladulla has been sealed off, to the delight of nearby residents.
A small dead shark has recently been left among the stinking household detritus which also included a microwave oven and large sheets of glass.
Gates and boulders are now in place at the entry points to Coral Crescent, which runs from the boundary of the South Pacific Heathland Reserve, between Dowling St and South Pacific Crescent.
Untarred and heavily eroded, especially after heavy rain and supposedly a no through road, it has for many years, according to residents, been a magnet for dumpers and four wheel driving hoons, who often got bogged or drove into the bush to forge a path.
Despite cleanup efforts, including a big job on Clean Up Australia Day in 2014, rubbish increased until Ulladulla Forum repeatedly asked authorities to remove it and to block access.
