Termeil student, Connor Cooney is on the road to recovery following a motorbike crash on Wednesday, May 18 in Wollongong.
Connor, 15, was involved in a serious accident while training at Mt Kembla Motorcycle Club when he failed to complete a jump.
The Ulladulla High School student was airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and placed into an induced coma for two weeks as doctors awaited bruising to the front and left side of his brain to reside.
Connor is progressing well and has been moved from the intensive care unit to a recovery unit.
“He is going great, progressing everyday. Little steps, but he’s definitely fighting to be up and going again. He has spoken quietly and was smiling when a few of his mates visited him,” his family said in a statement to the Times.
A Gofundme page has been set up to help support the family and any expenses associated with Connor’s recovery. Donations can be made at: www.gofundme.com/25hqnjeu.
