Running in her 52nd parkrun, this time at Batemans Bay on Saturday, July 2, Barb Maxwell had another outstanding race to secure the (F70-74) record - making (at least) 3 parkrun records for this talented runner. Others include: Kirra and Shellharbour parkruns. She also broke the 30-minute barrier, a challenge at any age, to finish in 29.52.
Gold Coast Airport Marathon Events - Saturday & Sunday, July 02 & 03: Not a single local RAT made it to the Gold Coast this year. But a number of our distant members provided excellent representation.

Local Running: A crisp, fresh and absolutely glorious start to the day, for 10 enthusiastic RATS last Sunday. The run started at the bus stop at the western end of Croobyar Road, Milton. This was quite a challenging run, which took in a number of hills, even before heading up the very steep Northern Buffer Road to the Mount Kingiman Repeater Station.
Once at the top, there is a lovely long flat section along the ridge line. This allowed the runners to enjoy the bush, the fresh air and the sounds of Lyrebirds in the area.
Coming down was almost as challenging as going up - and the final run along Elephant Road added some more serious undulations. Most runners managed 18, hard earned, kilometres for the morning, which meant that coffee at the Milkhaus was thoroughly enjoyed.
Running Next Sunday - July 10: Next Sunday, a slightly easier hit out. Please meet at 6.30am, at the tennis courts on Lake Conjola Entrance Road, Lake Conjola. An option to do one or two loops of the Narrawallee Creek Road/Buckleys Point Trail bush track circuit. Or a single loop, with a tour around Lake Conjola flat. This will be anything from 8 to 18km - suitable for all standards.
