Last week the NSW Pony Club Association held its Combined State Championships in Camden.
Jorjah Drysdale and Ruby Jones both represented zone 14 and Milton Pony Club in the state showjumping section.
Jorjah, riding Boots at her first state championships, competed in the under 13 champion grade and had three wins and one second place, from four rounds, to finish as the Under 13 state champion. Incredible effort. Tallying up the highest overall point score in this discipline, Jorjah is to be commended for her wonderful results. Jorjah was also a member of the NSW state team that won the showjumping section of the combined championships.
Ruby Jones competed on her lovely Delilah in the B grade division of the 15 and under 17 years section of the showjumping championships - an exceptionally great job in this older age group against some very tough competition. Ruby jumped brilliant rounds and came home with an eighth, ninth and 10th place, an outstanding result and a fantastic effort, while representing both Milton Pony Club and zone 14.
Later in the week, Madeline Woods and Jorjah Drysdale both competed in the equitation championships. Madeline rode her stunning steed Harry Potter in their first NSW pony club association State Equitation Championships together. The pair worked incredibly hard to place a rewarding third, 13th, eighth and sixth against a large class of 25 competitors in the Under 13 years age group over two days. Madeline represented Milton Pony Club and zone 14 at the championships, with superb riding and horsemanship skills that saw her place in all four rounds of a very challenging competition.
Jorjah Drysdale rode Y2K Medallion (aka Belle) in the equitation championships placing sixth, seventh and ninth, exceeding her own expectations. To finish off an already outstanding week of effort and results, Jorjah competed in the combined training championships on Boots after Belle pulled up sore at the vet check. Having never competed in dressage together as a duo Jorjah was up for a big challenge but rode incredibly well and placed 11th.
The zone 14 team also won best presented in the combined training section.
A huge thank you goes out to the organisers, volunteers and sponsors of this great event as the entire week ran very smoothly.
