THE weekend of July 2 and 3 saw fifteen swimmers from Ulladulla Swim Club travel to Sydney to compete in the NSW Short Course Championships at Homebush.
Jackson Blake, Lachlan Blake, Maddie Healey, Danielle Holt, Kara Hoyer, Piper Hoyer, Talkia Irvine, Lachlan Knight, Karla McPherson, Hollie Miles, Clare Meacham, Nathan Meacham, Chelsea Pheeney, Xanthe Pheeney, and Daniel Webb, all competed in individual events over the two days.
A big congratulations to the Top Ten Finalists:
Ulladulla was lucky enough to have four teams in the championships relay events over the course of the weekend. The first team was the girls’ 12 and under 200m freestyle consisting of Xanthe, Talika, Maddie and Chelsea, hitting the water on Saturday. All girls swam fantastic swimming on their entry time.
Next was the girls’ 13-14 years 200m freestyle consisting of Karla, Piper, Danielle and Hollie, with the girls pulling of a slight personal best time.
Sunday afternoon seen Preston Berry make the trip to Sydney to join Jackson, Lachlan B and Lachlan K to form the final member of the boys 13-14 years 200m medley team. The boys dug deep and had parents on the edge of their seats gaining a nice new personal best.
The final team to enter the water for the weekend was Karla, Danielle, Hollie and Maddie in the girls 13-14 years 200m medley. All the girls swam well swimming on their entry time.
The great results achieved by all our swimmers over the two days is a reflection of all the hard work everyone is putting in at training. Many of our swimmers walked away with new personal bests and State Times.
Swim Club is held Friday nights at 6.15 at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre during school terms. Event distances start at 15m, and we cater for all ages and abilities. New swimmers are welcome to come and trial three times before you need to become a member.
