
The 2016 Shoalhaven Building Design Awards are now open for entries.
Shoalhaven City Council is calling on residents to nominate a local project that promotes design excellence within the community for the 2016 Building Design Awards.
Held every two years, the awards are open to all projects located within Shoalhaven City and completed within the last three years.
The awards include 10 separate categories to recognise outstanding examples of creative design and quality construction.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash said the Shoalhaven Building Design Awards provide the community with an opportunity to recognise some of the many talented building professionals working within the Shoalhaven.
“The Shoalhaven Building Design Awards aim to highlight the many high quality building, design and construction companies that operate locally,” Clr Gash said.
“In previous years, I have been extremely impressed by the high calibre of entrants and the number of exceptional projects taking place throughout the Shoalhaven.”
“I would like to encourage any interested residents to nominate a project in the Shoalhaven that has caught their eye and recognise some of the talented craftsmanship that exists on our coast.”
The 2016 Shoalhaven Business Design Award entries will be judged in the following categories:
- Individual house up to $500,000 project cost
- Individual house above $500,000 project cost
- Alterations & Additions up to $350,000 project cost
- Alterations & Additions above $350,000 project cost
- Medium Density (including Dual Occupancy)
- Heritage Conservation
- Best practice in Building Sustainability
- Commercial/Industrial
- Tourist Development
- Subdivision Design
Nominations close Friday 26 August 2016 and the winners will be announced at a presentation evening on Friday 28 October 2016.
