Kids will have a chance to follow their dreams when Brea Holland brings her Brea Likes to Daydream show to ARTfest.
Brea will perform a live show for her young fans and will also conduct a vocal workshop where participants will learn some vocal techniques and perform a song for their families during KIDSfest, the ARTfest event for children.
Brea’s online kids’ show is popular with youngsters all over the country who have been tuning into her website for regular episodes where the school girl daydreams about being a princess, performing on stage, painting rainbows and swimming under the sea with the mermaids.
The talented 14-year-old is following her dreams to become a children’s performer and is excited about being involved with ARTfest again after winning last year’s Milton Voice competition.
She will hold a half-hour show on Saturday, September 24 at Ulladulla Public School. The audience can dance and sing along as Brea performs original songs from the first six episodes of her show.
On Sunday, kids of all ages are invited to join Brea for a one-hour vocal workshop.
She will teach budding singers a song which they will perform in harmony at the end of the workshop and show the kids some vocal tip they can practice at home.
Parents and friends are invited back for the last 10 mins of the workshop to see the children ‘perform’ their song on stage!
Brea invites kids of all ages to come and find their voice at her workshop or just enjoy her show.
“I hope that I can be a good role model for children and encourage them to dance, sing and have fun,” she said.
Brea recently won the hearts of many youngsters with her outstanding performance as Ariel in the Milton Follies’ production of the Little Mermaid.
Brea Likes to Daydream was designed by a school teacher, based on the Inquiry-based learning (IBL theory) and encourages children to use their critical thinking skills and use their imagination to problem solve and create solutions, promoting meaningful learning.
Brea invites the audience into her daydream and sings her way through each adventure, encouraging children to explore on their own journey of discovery.
More information, including show times, will be available in the ARTfest program.
