The Happy Feet Walking Group did not do a lot of walking on their last mystery bus trip. Instead they took a leisurely cruise on the Shoalhaven River to Greenwell Point.
24 walkers-turned-cruisers got together on September 20 for their Mystery Bus Tour. After driving to Nowra, they cruised to Greenwell Point. On the way, an enjoyable morning tea and informative commentary kept everyone entertained.
The boat went past Comerong Island, an internationally recognised habitat for shorebirds and waders.
As they cruised along the Shoalhaven River, caterers at Greenwell Point were busy preparing a lunch of fish and chips to serve as the group exited the boat.
All too soon it was time to get back on the buses and head for home. Special thanks to the wonderful service provided by the Community Transport buses and thoughtful drivers.
The walkers are grateful to organisers, Dorothy and Tony Gerzanics.
The Happy Feet Walking Group is part of the Heart Foundations’ walking for health program. Anyone new to the area or just looking for a friendly group to join is welcome to come along and check us out.
Walks are held five times a week Monday-Friday at 7.50am with coffee after each Friday walk.
Details of the walks are available in the Times Community Diary or alternatively contact Dorothy or Tony on 44556162.
