Batemans Bay Bridge has malfunctioned, closing the Princes Highway in both directions creating traffic chaos for the end of school holidays.
According to Batemans Bay Police a cable on the bridge has jammed. A mechanic is on the way but traffic is already banked up, and expected to get worse.
Police urged motorists to put off any travel plans involving crossing the Clyde River at Batemans Bay for at least an hour. More details as they come to hand. According to the RMS the bridge is expected to be open again at 1.15pm.
