A handmade timber bench seat was donated to Sarah Claydon IRT Milton in memory of Milton Linedancers, Barbara Hinchcliffe on Wednesday, November 9.
Money was raised by the Milton Linedancers to purchase the timber and the bench was constructed by the Milton-Ulladulla Men’s Shed.
“Barbara was instrumental to the beginnings of the Milton Social Group Linedancers,” Kerry Heather said.
In February 1998 Barbara along with a few friends started line dancing in a garage. In a very short time numbers had grown so a bigger venue was needed.
They moved to Milton Church Hall for classes every Wednesday.
Barbara took on the positions of treasurer and organiser. Roles she maintained until her health deteriorated and she became a resident at IRT Sarah Claydon, Milton
The Milton Bootscooters and Milton Social Group raised the funds at a Linedance Social to cover the costs of the Timber seat.
