The bright lights of Hollywood will shine on Ulladulla for the Shoalhaven premiere of The Legend of Ben Hall at Arcadia Cinema Ulladulla on Sunday, December 11.
The historical drama is based on the true story of infamous Australian bushranger Ben Hall and stars Jack Martin as Ben Hall, Jamie Coffa as John Gilbert, and William Lee as John Dunn.
The movie has been produced by Jessica Pearce, whose father Neville Pearce runs UIladulla Oyster Bar.
“I really do love Uladulla it has a beautiful arts community that is flourishing,” Jessica said.
“Ben Hall is such a part of NSW and we wanted to bring the film to many areas.
“It is great for us to bring the film to such a vibrant arts community.
“It is important to inspire people to keep making great Australian films.”
Neville makes his silver-screen debut in the film following his support of the movie’s kickstarter funding campaign.
“I put money into the kickstarter campaign which gave me the opportunity to be an extra in the film,” he said.
Neville plays a grandfather whose stage coach is robbed by bushranger John Gilbert.
“I cam write that one off my bucket list,” he said.
Neville said he is extremely proud of his daughter’s achievement with the film.
“It been has quite humbling to see the respect she has from everyone involved,” he said.
“Sometimes you have to sit back in awe of her.”
The VIP screening will be an exclusive event, with attendees given teh opportunity to walk the red carpet, greet the writer/director, producer and main actors.
Wine and champagne will be served on arrival and a brief talk from the cast and crew on the making of the feature film. Following the screening there will be a question and answers session and tapas at the Ulladulla Oyster Bar.
The event commences at 4:30pm for 5:30pm screening. Tickets are $50 and available at www.ulladullaoysterbar.com.au.
Net proceeds from the event will go to EscapeArtFest to be used towards future programs.
