Yurana Cancer Kids Holiday Homes will share the festive spirit this Christmas Day and bring lunch to those in the Milton-Ulladulla area who are spending the day alone.
The group will host a free Christmas luncheon at Mollymook Surf Club in the function room for families staying at their homes and they encourage anyone who would otherwise spend the day on their own to attend.
“We have been doing this every year, for about 20 years and everyone is welcome,” Yurana Cancer Kids Holiday Homes volunteer Dorothy Gerzanics said.
“Anyone who would be alone, couples, families; everyone is welcome.
“The lunch started out as a thank you to the people in the area who helped us raise the money to start the first house.
“Everyone receives lunch, a little present and we have entertainment from The Entertainers who will be singing Christmas carols.
“There might even be a visit from Santa for the kids.”
Those that can’t come due to lack of transport can be picked up by our volunteer drivers or we deliver meals for those that are unable to travel.
“Last year we served 80 and delivered 20 meals to homes,” Dorothy said.
“Our guest include families staying at our homes as well as anyone in the area who would like to attend.
“People who are on their own if they want to come down and join us, well that’d be good.”
Anyone who would like to attend is being asked to contact the Yurana office on 4454 1700 by close of business on December 21 to allow for catering.
