A NSW Department of Primary Industries helicopter has taken an aerial photograph of a 2.5 metre whaler shark at Hyams Beach at 12:14pm.
Whaler sharks are a potentially dangerous shark to humans.
This is the second sighting of whaler sharks at Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay today (Thursday, December 29).
The twitter account @NSWSharkSmart tweeted a picture of 17 whaler sharks in shallow water off Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay at approximately 9:30am.
The sharks are between 1.8 to 2.5 metres in length.
All swimmers have been evacuated from the water on each occasion.
This follows shark sightings at Narrawalle Beach, Dolphin Point, Bendalong Beach, Wairo Beach and North Tabourie over the past 48 hours.
