The Big Ullabaloo at Ulladulla Harbour will feature the regions first floating lantern parade.
“Not wanting to just sit on the sidelines, the ARTfest committee got together last week to create a few of their own for the festival,” organiser Jules Sydenham said.
“143 meters of baking paper, 4 litres of glue, 65 meters of bamboo and a few rolls of masking tape later, three lanterns are well under way.”
The ARTfest committee said they are excited to see the other lanterns community members and schools have made for the event and look forward to a spectacular turn out for the launch.
Lantern makers are encouraged to register their lanterns via escapeartfest.com.au and make sure they have suitable floats and paddlers organised.
All details and information can be found on the website, and the Ulladulla Mens Shed are available to supply low-cost floating palettes if needed, but you must act quickly as time is running out.
The Big Ullabaloo will kick off at around 4.30pm and will feature a range of activities while it's still light including sand castles, painting, circus activities, lantern making and the popular Big draw - a 24 meter canvas which will be painted in just over an hour.
“Bring the family along for a creative and inspiring evening, with the lantern parade happening around 7pm,” Jules said.
