With the first two were postponed due to bad weather in recent months, organisers were thrilled to finally welcome stall holders, locals and holidaymakers to the markets on Saturday.
The move from the centre of Milton to the showground saw stall numbers rise to 44, from just eight at the last streets markets.
“Everyone that was there said it had a lovely feel,” organiser Susie Greentree said.
“I was just really happy to finally get one under our belt and the showground looked beautiful. It had all been mown and presented so well.”
Ms Greentree thanked the regular Main Street Market goers who made the move to the showground.
“Moira with her second hand books was very popular, as was Flour Water Salt who had loads of gorgeous fresh baked breads and croissants,” she said.
There was no shortage of delicious treats available, with Cuppitts cheeses, turkish food, coffee and award-winning scones from Ulladulla baker Jo Holt keeping everyone happy.
Children’s clothing, locally produced timber, antique jewellry, pony rides and bric a brac stall also provided hours of market hunting fun.
With the holiday months fast approaching, Ms Greentree said she expects the markets to get even bigger and better.
“The stall holders were all very happy and it will gather momentum as the tourists arrive, they love markets,” she said.
“It was a good soft opening to see if everything worked and everything fell into place.”
The next Milton Markets will be held on Saturday, January 6, followed by Saturday, February 3. The March event will be moved due to the Milton Show. It will be held on Easter Saturday, on March 31.
