The Take 3 for the Sea event focused on educating families about recycling, single-use plastics and picking up three pieces of litter each time you’re on the beach.
‘Agy’ the mascot was also there, spreading a message about reading.
Shoalhaven City Council community development officer Helen Waterhouse said Agy’s key message was to encourage parents to read, sing and rhyme with their children from birth.
Ms Waterhouse was pleased with the turn out on the day, with an estimated 80 people visiting throughout the event the morning.
“It is wonderful,” she said.
“We have singers from Lachlan McKenzie’s music school here to entertain the crowd and get some performing experience, a demonstration from the gym, Take 3 for the Sea and colouring for the kids.
“We wanted to put this event on with Take 3 for the Sea Shoalhaven to encourage people to reuse and protect our beautiful Mollymook Beach.”
