This week, we had Premier Gladys Berejiklian in town to officially open the new Burrill Lake bridge. We were there to photograph the historic occasion, the culmination of years of community campaigning.
The Premier’s caused considerable angst at Shoalhaven City Council, when a meeting had to be adjourned so some councillors could make a function to celebrate South Coast MP Shelley Hancock’s 15 years in parliament.
Being Easter, police are out in force to ensure people are driving responsibly, so remember: if you’re going to drink do not drive.
Widow Alison Murray is also pushing the road safety message, having joined the FIX IT NOW campaign. She hopes by telling the story of how her husband died, she can help convince the state and federal governments to get on with upgrading the highway. Alison’s moving account of losing a loved one is already being shared widely on social media, so we are confident that message will get through.
