The Tigers came down with a full list while the Dockers scrambled to get their full side on the ground at ball up due to players’ working commitments.
From the first bounce the Dockers were in control, the boys giving their all to try and keep the Tigers from scoring with the wind, which they did successfully.
Having the wind in the second term the Dockers thought that if they could score a few majors the game would be in the bag.
But plans sometimes do not go as they should and all credit to the Tigers, who kept the Dockers on the dead flank so the game was going to go down to the line.
In the third quarter the Dockers again kept the Tigers scoreless, but all they had to do was kick a few goals and the game would be over for the local boys!
The Dockers played out of their skins to keep the Tigers toothless. At the last break, the mozzie squad was introduced.
Lots of abundant youth running in packs driving the ball into the Dockers goal, where the key forwards scored easily to take the game out. The final score was Dockers 5 goals 14 points to 2 goals 5 points.
The score line indicates that if the Dockers had kicked true, the difference would have been much larger.
Credit to the Tigers. It was the closest game they have had with the Dockers in the last 10 years.
Next week the Dockers take on the University Bulldogs at home with the game starting at 10.30am.
