Thousands of people are estimated to have attended the Ulladulla dawn service at 6am on Wednesday.
The Australian and New Zealand national anthems were sung and an address on the theme of ANZAC was given by Command Warrant Officer of Fleet Air Arm David Carriage.
The day marks the 103rd anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli, and the 100th year since the decisive victory at the battle of Villers-Bretonneux.
An Anzac Day march will be held at Milton on the Princes Highway, followed by a service, at 10.30am.
