The new Milton Produce Market will be held each Saturday from 8.30am to 11.30am at Milton Showground. The first market day is set for June 16.
Future stallholders were rapt to have weekly market return to the area after the Gaia Farmers’ Market ceased operations. It’s hoped a change of day will suit stallholders and customers alike.
”There’s a demand on both parts and so we’re hoping to, I guess, find a way of meeting the needs of both local growers and the local community and doing it in a financially viable way,” stallholder Anna Sim said.
Seasons will dictate what’s available and a community table may assist smaller producers to participate, whether it was one-off or for a few weeks while their crop was ready.
