Describing the day as a “huge success”, Claudia Woods said about 60 people attended the launch of her first book, ‘Jacob’s Story: The BIG Backyard Adventure’, which was published by Harbour Publishing House (HPH).
“Including presale copies, 451 books were sold on the day which should see us break into the top 100 Nielsen BookScan weekly top seller list,” she said.
“This is quite extraordinary.”
Signing books for over an hour, Ms Woods told attendees at the launch that it was a “dream come true” to have Jacob’s Toys published.
“One I never thought I would realise, and to be sharing it with my family and friends is just the most incredible feeling. It still doesn’t feel real,” she said.
“I can’t thank Garry and Michelle Evans, and their creative team at Harbour Publishing House enough for their professionalism and creative input, but also their encouragement and support throughout the whole process.”
Ms Woods launched a crowdfunding campaign in 2016, before it was picked up by the publishing house. She said money donated during that campaign was used to purchase 105 copies of the book for The Smith Family Christmas and Toy Book Appeal.
“It’s been a very good feel good time for all involved,” Ms Woods said.
