Jake Alexander Prosser, 36, was also disqualified from driving for seven months and will have to fit an interlock device to his car for 24 months after he was convicted at Milton Local Court on May 10.
The offender was spotted leaving the Marlin Hotel bottleshop driveway about 7pm on April 25.
Police were patrolling on Wason Street and watched the driver proceed through the traffic lights while it was red.
Prosser turned right and drove north on the Princes Highway. The vehicle was seen veering to the left edge of the lane twice before police pulled him over in Church Street.
He admitted to drinking six schooners of full-strength beer and a half a can of rum since 1.30pm that day and later blew 0.158 at Ulladulla Police Station.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming also fined Prosser $1200 for his high range offence.
